Coach says "Bring it on!"

This weekend see's our second home game for the NQ McDonalds Razorbacks FC (7pm Saturday 26, Townsville Sport Reserve).

With the bad weather taking our home, the Townsville Sports Reserve, out of play last week we moved to Burdekin Panthers, International Park, Ayr. Many thanks to the Burdekin club for your wonderful hospitality.

Pity we could not provide the required result to finish of a great day.

The NQ McDonalds Razorbacks performance against the Sunshine Coast Fire showed how short of match practice we really are. The Fire are a team who is in no need of a head start. They out played us for the majority of the match.

This week we must be up for the encounter with the new boys on the block Southern Cross United or we could face a similar fate.

By all accounts the Josh McCloughan coached side is very talented and proved this by wining the Clem Jones Cup, a preseason competition they played in with Fire, Strikers and other new comers Gold Coast Stars.

The NQ McDonalds Razorbacks goal is to reach the playoff in 2011, for this to happen it must start this weekend at home with a come back performance against Southern Cross.

We must be prepared for a very intense encounter and make a statement that it is not an easy road trip to North Queensland.

It will be wonderful to be back playing at the Townsville Sports Reserve, this facility has a lot of football history connected to it with the Razorbacks playing there regularly over the last four seasons and it being the former home of our first ever State League side Townsville Kern United in the late 70's early 80's.

Many thanks to our Sponsors and Supporters for backing the NQ McDonalds Razorbacks in 2011.

Coach
Ken Mitchell
